Verizon released 2nd update for Galaxy S22 with January 2023 security patch in the US
Samsung has released the second update for its Galaxy S22 smartphone on the Verizon network in the United States. The update, which is dated January 2023, includes a number of bug fixes and improvements.

The update mentioned January 2023 security patch which has already rolled out two weeks ago. The new firmware carries S901USQS2BWA2, S906USQS2BWA2, and S908USQS2BWA2 for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, respectively.
January 7th: Verizon US Galaxy S22 updated to January 2023 update
January 2023 is available on Verizon’s network; the version numbers S901USQS2BVL4, S906USQS2BVL4, and S908USQS2BVL4 can identify the update, and for Galaxy S22 general, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra respectively. However, the update should be available to other carriers in the next few days.

Samsung explained the vulnerabilities that were corrected with the update: there are no vulnerabilities marked as ‘critical’ or ‘moderate’, but 50 of ‘high’ severity are mentioned, along with three previously integrated CVEs, including those related to Personal Area and NFC. No further news seems to have been integrated: Android 13 has already arrived in recent weeks.
The January 2023 security update also fixes a vulnerability in the Samsung Knox service related to permissions or privileges. Also, it adds restrictions that prevent the protected folder container from remaining unlocked under certain conditions.
Moreover, the update may come with some general improvements, which enhance the overall performance and security of the device. It is highly recommended to install the update on your Galaxy device as soon as possible.
