Samsung new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition outpaces Galaxy Z Fold 6 in superiority
Samsung continues its top rank of its amazing innovations and advanced techniques, which is gradually taking heights. Right after a lot of leaks and rumors, Samsung finally announced the latest Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition—it’s slimmer, cheekier, and more powerful version of the basic Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Announced in the company’s home town, South Korea, the new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition perhaps amazes with its refined features, but is it much superior to the Z Fold 6?
Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition Vs Galaxy Z Fold 6: Similarities
To begin with the similarities in particular, Samsung has infused both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition with more or less similar design concepts; meanwhile, internally, the newer Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset along with the same 4,400mAh battery, where the 25W charging capacity also remains the same as the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be launched with Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1, and it’s promised to receive seven years of major OS updates and security patches, too.
What makes the Galaxy Z Fold SE superior to the Galaxy Z Fold 6?
Despite the similar looks and design, the newer Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is undoubtedly superior to the Z Fold 6. First thing first—the display. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition features the biggest display in the company’s foldables’ history, with a 6.5-inch cover screen display and an 8-inch main screen.
The main (inner) display of the new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is crease-free, hence it will not feel cramped like the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s inner display screen. Another factor that Samsung’s newer foldable sports is two of its amazing qualities—it’s now light and thin flagship foldable, as it only measures 4.9mm thin when unfolded and 10.6mm when folded, whereas the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 5.6mm when unfolded and 12.1mm when folded.
Next up, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition further comes with a minor design change, highlighting its nice textured frame with a striped pattern at the back, which is not present in the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 model.
What makes Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition more special is the inclusion of much better camera hardware. It ditches the long-running 50MP primary camera used in the Z Fold 6 as well, taking inspiration from the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition features a 200MP primary camera with a 12MP Ultrawide, 10MP camera supporting 3x optical zoom alongside a 10MP cover screen and a 4MP uner-display selfie camera.
Moreover, as of now, Samsung has only unveiled the availability of the latest Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea, commencing its first sale on 25th October. However, the company has not stated a word on whether the phone will get available in other major markets.
