Samsung is setting up to debut its next-generation foldable phone rumored to be the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is expected to bring a 200MP primary camera.

Samsung is reportedly working on a new foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold SE (Special Edition}. A well-reliable tipster, Evan Blass, suggests that the camera setup of the phone will include a 200MP primary camera. It’s expected to be the same sensor used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which features 2x optical quality zoom.

If the report is to be believed, Samsung could not widely expand the availability of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, as it could only debut the device in China and Korea. Noticeably, the device is rumored to be slimmer as compared to the older Galaxy foldable already available in the market.

To make the coming foldable thinner, the company ditched the S-Pen support. The company startup developed a 2.5mm hinge for foldable smartphones. Currently, the Galaxy foldable phones available on the market are nearly 2.85 mm thick, developed by Samsung Elec.

It’s expected that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could debut in September in South Korea and later could be available in China. Reportedly, the forthcoming Special Edition could feature a 6.5-inch cover and an 8.0-inch inner display.

However, Samsung has yet to announce anything official regarding the rumored Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It will be interesting to see whether the rumored special edition will come into existence with the same branding.
