Key Differences Between Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra

Samsung launched the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra a few days back, coupled with a new powerful chipset and a few minor upgrades as compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung officially released a differentiation chart for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra.  

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra 

In early last year (January 2024), Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 Ultra under the Galaxy S24 series with all the upgraded specifications and advanced features of that period.

On the comparison side, Samsung debuted the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra under the Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event this week, coupled with a new chipset & AI features and minor upgrades as compared to its predecessor. 

As per the hype, the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn’t live up to expectations as it doesn’t feature exclusive novelties except the chipset. Let’s take a closer look at the comparison. 

Processor

Samsung powered the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which is quite power efficient. On the other side, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, which also delivers high-end performance. 

Camera

Here’s the comparison of the two models with their camera specs arranged for clarity:


Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra:

Key Differences:

  • Ultra-Wide Camera: The S25 Ultra has a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor with a smaller f/2.0 aperture and smaller pixel size (0.7 µm), while the S24 Ultra has a 12 MP ultra-wide with a larger f/2.2 aperture and larger pixels (1.4 µm).
  • Front Camera: Both have a 12 MP front camera, but no other notable differences.

Both devices feature a quad-camera setup, including the same configuration for the wide-angle lens (200MP) and telephoto (50MP & 10MP).

The only upgrade Samsung offered to the Galaxy S25 Ultra under the camera setup is the 50MP ultra-wide camera, whereas the Galaxy S24 Ultra has 12MP. 

Battery

Samsung hasn’t offered any battery upgrade with the latest model, as both feature a 5000mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. 

But the Galaxy S25 Ultra has up to 31 hours of video playback, whereas the Galaxy S24 Ultra has 30 hours, and it’s due to the highly efficient processor.

Weight & Size

  • Dimensions:
    • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm, 218 g
    • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: 162.3 x 79 x 8.6 mm, 232 g

The Galaxy S25 Ultra weighs 218 g and measures 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 dimensions. It’s quite lighter than its predecessor and has slight changes in the arrangement of dimensions.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra weighs 232 g heavier than the latest model and measures 162.3 x 79.0 x 8.6 dimensions.

These are the few notable differences between the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra devices.
