One UI 6.1.1 Update in Galaxy S23 Reduced Dolby Atmos Quality
In September, Samsung rolled out the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S23 series that brought about a lot of new and upgraded features. Meanwhile, recently, this update seems to have some technical glitch that’s causing issues to Dolby Atmos Audio output and EQ settings, to which Samsung is preparing to release improvements in the future updates.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 owners via Reddit shared that for over a month or so, they have been facing an error towards the EQ and Dolby Atmos sound output on their Galaxy S23 phones, even after installing the latest software update.
To which, Samsung responded to the issue and clarified that it’s been already working on this issue and even assured that the issue will get fixed in the next update.
Actually, due to the changes in the previous Dolby Atmos sound settings, the users have been facing issues in their listening experience; even the audio sound and music sound have have become tinny and muffled. Samsung clarified that the Dolby Atmos Library has been updated from v3.10 to 3.12, which focuses on enhancing the 360 Audio capabilities.
However, this change unfortunately led to an alteration in the sound quality in some audio modes, making the sound quality much inferior and muffled compared to the earlier version. Meanwhile, the company has addressed the issue and is already planning to launch an updated Dolby Atmos Library, reassuring users that the improvements are on their way and are considered to be released in the future updates.
It seems unlikely that the fix will be released in the meantime, as the Galaxy S23 owners are already receiving the November security update, and still there is no word whether the Dolby Atmos sound issue got fixed. Hopefully, Samsung will release the fix soon.
