Samsung plans to expand its foldable family by introducing the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It’s expected that by the end of this year, Samsung could introduce the special variant.

Samsung’s foldable fan community is already for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. Now the new report has pointed out that the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim could be branded as the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.

A tipster, Evan Blass, on X, revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is the upcoming foldable Samsung is looking forward to, and he mentioned that the rumored Slim or Ultra-branded foldable smartphone is not coming. This means that the company could name the rumored-coming slim variant as a special edition.

If the report is to be believed, the company the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could be on the floor sometime in September. It is reported that the special edition variant will feature a larger cover and inner screen than the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 6. Noticeably, the Korean tech giant is not in the mood to offer S Pen support.

The reason behind ditching the S Pen support is that the company is working on reducing the thickness to compete with other slim foldables available in the market. It is expected that it could debut the coming foldable Special Edition in two markets, including South Korea and China. It was also reported that the device will be available in a black color option and may cost nearly $2,100.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be slimmer as compared to the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6, measuring around 10 mm when folded. It will potentially be launched in response to Apple’s iPhone 16 event on September 9th. However, the company will make the Special Edition available in limited quantities in specific markets.
