Samsung Electronics America has recently introduced a new storage capacity variant of its most durable drive till now. This new 4TB capacity SSD is a variant of Samsung’s rugged T7 Shield Portable SSD, which was introduced back in April 2022. As of now, it has 1TB and 2TB storage options, but now the company has introduced a more capable 4TB variant as well. So, let’s take a look at this new Portable SSD.

Informatively, the rugged T7 SSD is not only durable but fast also. It delivers read and write speeds of 1,050 and 1,000 MB/s respectively, which is nearly double T5’s. It can also handle the toughest creator tasks such as video recording, editing, and rendering without performance degradation or overheating, with the help of its Dynamic Thermal Guard. It works with devices including PCs, Macs, Android phones, and game consoles.

Other than these, the SSD also has an IP65 rating for dustproof and water resistance, has a 10-foot shock resistance, and supports AES 256-bit encryption. Because it is a rugged SSD, there is no need to worry about any prior damages. Despite this, the SSD is pocket friendly and weighs 3.5 ounces only. Coming to the 4TB storage variant, it will be useful for taking trips to store more pictures and hours of videos of 12K resolution.
