Samsung One UI 5.1 update has officially landed in several Galaxy smartphones, and it comes with new features and improvements. The latest version of One UI also increases security against cyberattacks through a new Samsung Message Guard feature.

Samsung Message Guard is a powerful security tool that helps protect you from new and invisible threats. It uses cutting-edge technology to detect and block unauthorized messages, including those from hackers, scammers, and other malicious actors.

Samsung Message Guard is a new security feature available on some Samsung devices that helps protect your phone against zero-click exploits. These exploits allow an attacker to take control of your phone without needing to enter your password or PIN. Your phone receives an image. It vibrates gently in your pocket before going still. Or it’s on your bedside table, lighting up briefly as you sleep. You haven’t touched your phone, but someone may already be reading your messages, browsing your gallery, and copying your bank details.

The next concern in a time of rising cybercrime that targets user data is zero-click vulnerabilities. Every third consumer in the globe has had a data breach where their personal information was stolen. With rates more than tripling between 2013 and 2021, data breaches are becoming more frequent.

Threats change, but Samsung’s mobile security does too. Thanks to the robust Samsung Knox platform, users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones are already shielded from attacks employing video and audio formats. Samsung Message Guard goes one step further in terms of security by forewarning and shielding your device from invisible dangers disguising themselves as image attachments.

The security program is currently compatible with Google Messages and Samsung Messages. A software update will be released later to enable Samsung Message Guard to secure you across third-party messaging apps, keeping with Samsung’s commitment to open collaboration.

Samsung Message Guard also have an advanced “Sandbox”

The firm refers to Samsung Message Guard as “a form of virtual quarantine” or an advanced sandbox. It isolates images users get from the rest of the device and examines them bit by bit in a controlled environment, blocking potentially harmful programs from accessing files on your phone’s storage or interacting with the operating system.

According to Samsung, data breaches have increased in frequency, with rates more than tripling between 2013 and 2021, according to a 2022 Data Breach Investigations Report by Verizon. Users of Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets are protected from zero-click vulnerabilities thanks to the Knox platform. The latter shields users from assaults using audio and video formats. The newest addition to the Samsung mobile security lineup, Message Guard, takes user protection for Galaxy device owners from hackers one step further.
