Verizon Galaxy S20 gets One UI 5.1 update in the US

Samsung has surprised many of Galaxy users by the speed of serving One UI 5.1 for the Galaxy devices, the company has expanded the latest to many devices in very less time, which is worth appreciating, but Galaxy users in the US are getting the same update very lately because of carrier restrictions.

Notably, the carrier-locked variant of Galaxy S20 devices is getting the One UI 5.1 update in the US. The update is currently rolling out on the Verizon network, which means the devices affiliated with the particular network will get the latest update. However, the other network will also push the same update in a few days.

Users who own Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra devices can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers G981USQU3HWB4, G986USQU3HWB4, and G988USQU3HWB4 respectively.

The latest update brings the support of One UI 5.1, which is not a type of major update, so it brings a lot of new features. As per the changelog, the latest update adds many new functions under several system-level apps, including Camera, AR Zone, Gallery, modes, Routines, Samsung Internet and more. Additionally, the update also brings the latest security patch in the form of a February 2023 update that fixes over 50 security vulnerabilities; the fixes are included by Google and Samsung in the form of patches, where Google’s patches target the Android OS, while Samsung’s patches target the issues of Galaxy devices.
