In recent years, foldable phones have been making waves in the tech industry, with Samsung being one of the major players in this game. As foldable phones gain popularity, Samsung and other manufacturers constantly work to improve their designs and functionalities to provide users with the best possible experience.

The Korean tech giant is gearing up for the launch of its newest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and while the official announcement is yet to come, rumors and leaks are already generating excitement among tech enthusiasts.

After alleged leaks regarding the RAM and storage options of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, there have been more exciting developments in the foldable phone space. Recently, renowned tech insider Ice Universe took to Twitter to reveal that one of the key differences between the new foldable and their predecessors will be the hinges.

Samsung has also reportedly made some significant improvements to the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. One of the most notable changes is an innovative solution that aims to reduce the visibility of the crease in the center of the device. This transition will improve the overall aesthetics of the device and decrease its thickness from 15.8-14.2mm to approximately 13mm. Furthermore, leaks suggest that the two sides of the folding should close like a book, leaving no space between them. This would significantly improve from the previous generations of foldable phones, where a noticeable gap was often present when the device was closed.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are also expected to have similar dimensions to their predecessors, with a difference of only 0.2mm. However, there are reports that the new Fold will be lighter, weighing in at 254 grams, nine grams less than the previous generation. Despite the improvements in weight, the devices are expected to maintain their premium feel and build quality. Furthermore, rumors suggest that the external display of the device will remain unchanged at 6.2 inches, although some improvements in display technology are expected to be present.

Turning our attention to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, rumors suggest that this device will feature a nearly square external screen that is 3.4 inches in size, taking up most of the area. This external screen is expected to be a major improvement from the previous generation, offering users more screen real estate for notifications and quick actions.

In addition to the hinge and design improvements, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is also expected to feature some impressive technical upgrades. The device is rumored to have a new touchscreen technology, as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor, which promises faster performance and improved efficiency. The camera is also expected to receive a major upgrade, with the ISOCELL GN3 main camera sensor, which should provide improved image quality and low-light performance. Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumored to have IPX8 water resistance, making it more durable and suitable for outdoor use.
