Exclusive: Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5’s model numbers appears online

It’s now been quite a while ever since the rumors regarding the next-gen Galaxy foldable phones started to show up on the internet. Until now, we have got plenty of information regarding both the soon-to-be-launched devices- the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, whether it is about their new hinge type or their standard storage options. Now, we have found these devices’ build numbers as well, which we have mentioned below.

As per our sources, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 device has the build number SM-F946U and SM-F946W, of which the first one denotes the US variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 device, and the other one is for the Canada variant of the device. Besides it, the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 device has the build number SM-F731U, which certainly denotes the US variant of it. Now, let’s take a look at the rumors we have received so far.

As per the previous rumors, the South Korean firm is planning to use a new hinge type in these foldable devices. By ditching the older hinge type, the company will now use a waterdrop-type hinge in them, which is initially named ‘Dumbbell’. Besides, their storage options have also been leaked, which says that these devices will get Galaxy S23-like storage options. If you are unaware of them, we are providing the information below.

Galaxy Z Fold 5

  • 256GB
  • 512GB
  • 1TB

Galaxy Z Flip 5

  • 128GB
  • 256GB
  • 512GB

Informatively, all of the storage variants will use the USF 4.0 chip in them, leaving just the 128GB variant of the Z Flip 5 device, which will use the older USF 3.1 storage chip in it. Other than the storage, it is also rumored that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 device will have a little wider screen than the Z Fold 4. Previously, it also said that the Z Fold 5 phone would get an in-built S Pen slot, but for some reason, Samsung dropped the idea

However, the information hasn’t been confirmed yet. To know more about them, we should wait for an official announcement or maybe for their launch. As per the expectations, the launch may happen in the second half of this year, most probably on August 2023. The company will hold an Unpacked Event for these devices’ launch.
