Samsung has recently released the latest security patch update for its popular foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. The update has started rolling out in the United States and Europe, with Australia being the latest country to receive it in April 2023.

The firmware version being rolled out is F936BXXU2CWCC and F721BXXU2CWCCrespectively, which includes over 60 fixes to vulnerabilities discovered in recent months. These vulnerabilities include those reported by Google and those found by Samsung’s own team of security experts.

Image Clipper Feature Now Available on Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4

The update available for the Australian market added only the security patches of April 2023, going to remedy several problems from the point of view of security; the update that began its distribution in the countries of the Caucasus instead, in addition to the aforementioned security patches, also brings the Image Clipper function on the top-of-the-range smartphones of the previous generation.

We have also recently learned that Samsung is planning to bring the Image Clipper feature to a smaller number of devices than initially speculated. This feature was originally released exclusively on Galaxy S23 series smartphones and allows users to crop objects from photos through the Gallery app instantly. By tapping and holding an object, it is possible to crop it and later copy, share, or save it as a separate image.

If you are the owner of one of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones and want to check the availability of the update for your device manually, all you have to do is go to Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install; if it is not yet present, it will only be a matter of waiting patiently.
