The South Korean firm Samsung has recently been sued over the infringement of 9 patents that were related to its Galaxy Watch smartwatches. As per the reports, the State University of New York Research Foundation, the University of Connecticut, and Worcester Polytechnic University jointly filed a patent lawsuit against the Korean giant in the federal court of Texas. Ki Chon started working with the Korean firm on the Galaxy Wathces but only till the year 2018. Even after Chon’s partnership with the company ended, Samsung continued to launch heart-related wearables independently.

Notably, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave a certification to Samsung in 2020 so that they can release a health monitoring app to use on the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2 devices.
