Samsung Electronics has announced that it is adding skin temperature measurement to its existing calendar-based Cycle Tracking feature for the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro. The new feature will allow users to conveniently get even deeper insights to manage their menstrual cycles and overall health. The new feature is being progressively released via Samsung Health app updates in Korea, the U.S., and 30 European markets.

The period tracking feature rollout to the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro started on April 19, 2023, after installing the latest update. With the integration of Natural Cycles, the Cycle Tracking feature allows users to track skin temperature changes, which is a good estimate of basal body temperature during sleep right from their wrist. The Galaxy Watch5 series uses infrared technology for more accurate readings, even if conditions of surroundings change. The advanced Cycle Tracking feature helps users track ovulation and better predict when their next period will begin.

Samsung’s Galaxy Rings will be more accurate than Galaxy Watches in terms of health tracking

The addition of skin temperature measurement to the Cycle Tracking feature is a significant improvement in Samsung’s efforts to offer women’s health monitoring features in its smartwatch products. With the new feature, users can monitor their menstrual cycles more accurately and better understand their overall health. It is particularly useful for women who are trying to conceive or those who want to track their menstrual cycle for medical reasons.

The integration of Natural Cycles with Samsung’s sensor technology also ensures that the readings provided are accurate and reliable. The infrared technology used in the Galaxy Watch5 series ensures that even if the conditions around the user change, the readings remain accurate.
