Samsung Galaxy S23 gets May 2023 security update in more countries
The Galaxy S23 is the latest addition to the flagship segment of Samsung; it was introduced in the last Galaxy Unpacked event. The device came with Android 13-based One UI 5.1, and then the company pushed many updates in the form of security patches; continuing the streak now, the Korean giant has introduced a new security update for the Galaxy S23 series devices.
The latest update brings the May 2023 security patch. It is the latest update that brings over 70 fixes. The update includes Google’s patches that resolve the issues related to Android OS, while Samsung has also added more improvements for its Galaxy devices.
Moreover, the update aims to provide a more secure environment to the users on their devices. Furthermore, the update also brings improvements in the stability of the device. It is worth noticing that the update doesn’t include any new features like the previous one.
Currently, the update is rolling out in several countries, including Australia, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and UAE. All three models, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, are getting the new update with version number S911BXXS1AWD1, S916BXXS1AWD1, and S918BXXS1AWD1 sequentially.
The Galaxy S23 device was launched back in February; it was packed with the latest Android with One UI 5.1. Being one of the flagship devices, it will get five years of software support, which means the device will receive four Android updates up to Android 17 and also gets a minor update in the form of security patches.
The Galaxy S23 device is the latest flagship smartphone which was launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The company is now preparing for the next unpacked event, which will take place in August-September. In this event, Samsung will introduce its latest generation of foldable devices, i.e., Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
