Samsung Galaxy S22 was one of the most anticipated devices of the Galaxy S lineup; now, the device has lost some attention from users as they have a new option in the form of the latest flagship device, Galaxy S23. However, Samsung is properly distributing new updates to its older flagship device. The company has already rolled out the May 2023 security update in many regions worldwide.

However, the US-based Galaxy S22 devices don’t get the update on all units because of carrier limitations. Earlier, these devices got the May 2023 security update on the US Cellular network. Now more carriers have released the update, including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and Dish Wireless.

The carrier-locked variants of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, which are affiliated to T- Mobile and MetroPCS, are receiving the update with version numbers S901USQS2CWE1, S906USQS2CWE1, and S908USQS2CWE1 respectively.

The Dish wireless affiliated units of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are getting the update with these firmware version numbers S901USQS2CWE2, S906USQS2CWE2, and S908USQS2CWE2 sequentially.

The latest update only brings some security-related fixes that aim to refresh the mechanism of the device so that it can easily fight against the external malware and viruses that attackers use to steal your data. So it is recommended to update your device to the latest security patch.

To install the latest update on your Galaxy device, follow the below steps:

  • Go to Settings.
