Samsung brings May 2023 security update for Galaxy smartphones in Australia

Samsung always follows a strategy to update the Galaxy devices’ new security patches. Initially, it rolled out the update to the high-end devices and then gradually shifted to the low-end devices. Most of the time, the company initially releases the update to one of the beta participant countries. Then expand it to other remaining countries.

Like now, the Korean giant is rolling out the May 2023 security update to many Galaxy devices, including Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, Galaxy Z Flip 5G. 

The May 2023 security update doesn’t bring any innovation; it is only focused on strengthening the security of Galaxy devices. Moreover, the update includes several patches that improve the overall performance and stability of the devices.

For your info, the latest security patch update brings 70+ fixes that are added by Samsung and Google together. Google has added patches that resolve the problems that appear in the Android OS, while Samsung’s patches aim to do bug-free Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G

and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G are receiving the May 2023 security patch update with these firmware version numbers F926BXXS3EWD9 and F711BXXS4EWD9, respectively. While the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 5G are getting the update with version numbers F916BXXS2JWE2 and F707BXXS8JWD3 sequentially.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Note 20 5G is getting a new security update with firmware version number N981BXXS6HWE1. The May 2023 security update is coming for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra with these build numbers G988BXXUGHWD6, G988BXXUGHWD6, and G988BXXUGHWD6 sequentially.

Samsung has also updated all these devices with One UI 5.1. This was the latest UI update by Samsung for the Galaxy devices, which brought many enhancements to the existing functions of Galaxy devices. However, the new software update doesn’t carry any new features with it. But to be safe against external threats, you should update your device to the latest update.
