Unlocked Galaxy S20 FE gets May 2023 security update in the USA

Samsung is extending the May update in the US. With each day passing company joins new devices which are eligible for new updates; as of now, the Korean giant has expanded the update to many Galaxy devices, including Galaxy S21Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Fold 3, and many more. Now it has expanded the update to the Galaxy S20 FE devices.

Due to carrier limitations, the company is only able to push the update to carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy devices. The locked variants are dependent on the respective carriers. 

Like now, the carrier-unlocked variant of Galaxy S20 FE 5G is getting the update with the version number G781U1UESAGWD5. As per the official changelog, the update includes some improvements related to device performance and stability.

The May 2023 security update is now available for the Galaxy S20 on several networks, including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Verizon, Sprint, Xfinity Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South US, Cricket Wireless, C-Spire, Dish Wireless, Tracfone, US Cellular.

One UI 5.1.1 will come to these Galaxy devices

Users who own the Galaxy S20 FE device can install the latest update by simply tapping the update notification and then touching the Download Now button. If in case the update notification doesn’t come on your device, then you can also follow the Alternative method mentioned below.

Installation

  1. Go to the system settings
  2. Then tap on the software update menu
  3. Now touch the Download and install the option 
  4. Wait until the search gets finished
  5. Now if it shows a new update available, then tap on the Download Now button.
