Galaxy Note 20 receives July 2023 security update in Europe

In the third week of July 2023, Samsung is diligently rolling out the latest security updates for its devices. Given their track record of promptness, there’s hope that the company will maintain the same pace as last month.

Samsung has gained a reputation for its efficiency in delivering security patches, often arriving a week ahead of schedule in previous months. Currently, the updates are being distributed to the European units of Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, while those in the United States have already received the update for both locked and unlocked models.

The July 2023 security patch for the Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G can be identified by their firmware numbers: N981BXXS7HWG1 (SM-N981B) and N986BXXS7HWG1 (SM-N986B), respectively. Additionally, the LTE model of Galaxy Note 20 can expect the update with firmware version N980FXXS7HWG1 (SM-N980F).

Primarily focused on security, this patch addresses more than 90 vulnerabilities that were present in the previous software version. However, users should not anticipate any new features or performance enhancements with this particular update.
