In July 2023, Samsung is making continuous progress by rolling out updates to more eligible Galaxy devices daily. According to the company’s policy, all flagship range devices are eligible for security update support for up to five years. The company is now releasing new updates for devices such as the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the United States.

The July 2023 security patch fixes over 90 security vulnerabilities detected in the previous version of the software, but does not introduce new features or performance improvements.

Unlocked Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra July 2023 Update in the US

The July 2023 security update is now available for several unlocked variants of Galaxy devices. Carrier-unlocked models such as the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note Ultra receive the July 2023 security patch with the firmware version N98*U1UES4HWF3. This update is being rolled out on networks including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Verizon, Sprint, Xfinity Mobile, Dish Wireless, Bluegrass Cellular, Nextech / C-Spire, US Cellular, and Spectrum Mobile.

Unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Z Flip 4 July 2023 Update in the US

The carrier-unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 devices are also receiving the latest security update with firmware versions F936U1UES3CWF3 and F721U1UES3CWF3, respectively. These updates are being provided on several networks, including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Verizon, Xfinity Mobile, Dish Wireless, Bluegrass Cellular, Nextech / C-Spire, US Cellular, Cricket Wireless, Cellular South US, and Spectrum Mobile.

Unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G July 2023 Update in the US

Meanwhile, the carrier-unlocked variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is receiving the same security update with version F916U1UES3JWF3. This update will be available on several carriers, including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Verizon, Xfinity Mobile, Dish Wireless, Bluegrass Cellular, Nextech / C-Spire, US Cellular, Cricket Wireless, Cellular South US, and Spectrum Mobile.

It is important to note that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Z Fold 2 devices are no longer eligible for further Android updates. Additionally, these devices will not receive any new updates in the new One UI update. However, according to Samsung’s policy mentioned above, they will continue receiving further security updates.
