Samsung usually launches the One UI 6.0 beta program for its one-year-old S series devices within a couple of weeks, but this time the Galaxy S22 doesn’t get it yet. However, to fill the gap, the company is rolling out new firmware updates for the devices.

Notably, the new firmware for the Galaxy S22 series has been spotted in some parts of Europe, the US as well as in India. Users who own the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra can identify the new update by the firmware version numbers S901BXXU6CWH5, S906BXXU6CWH5, and S908BXXU6CWH5, respectively. The update comes in a 1.8 GB software package.

The update for a US carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S22 series has arrived with its identification build number, S90xUSQU3CWGI version, for a few locked carriers, including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and Dish Wireless. Alongside the unlocked variant, this new security patch holds up its unique firmware code, which appears as the S90xU1UEU3CWGI version.

Meanwhile, for Galaxy S22 users in India, the update will be available with the firmware version numbers S901EXXU6CWH3 (base), S906EXXU6CWH3 (plus), and S908EXXU6CWH3 (ultra). The update for India comes in a 2.3GB software package.

What can I expect from the massive software update?

Earlier in July, many users of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series complained that light sources appeared off in photos captured with the main rear camera in low light. In March, Samsung acknowledged this bug and said it was working on a software update that would fix it. The update was supposed to be available in the previous month, but so far, it has not been seen.

In response to these types of issues, the Samsung community moderator said that the company will release an update to deal with all the problems that are reported by users. So most likely this could be the same update; therefore, it is coming in a huge package of 1.8 GB.

Installation

Users who own Galaxy S22 series devices in Europe, India, and the US should get the notification on their devices. If you don’t get any notifications yet, you can also manually check them by going to the software update menu via system settings.
