Whenever we start hearing music, everyone wants their favorite music to be at the top. Spotify’s song discovery process will be facilitated by Google AI. Utilizing the technology giant’s artificial intelligence to identify user preferences through patterns, the streaming platform has extended its partnership with them. Then, based on your interests, it can suggest songs, albums, or playlists. In an effort to provide personalized suggestions, Spotify and Google Cloud extended their collaboration on Thursday.

LLMs, or large language models, are used to detect a user’s listening habits across podcasts and audiobooks. Generating text and other material, artificial intelligence-driven LLMs like Google Bard and OpenAI’s ChatGPT are trained on vast amounts of data. The three main areas of concentration for Google Cloud AI tools are:

Content discovery: In an effort to get a deeper understanding of its library and employ more metadata in its recommendation system, Spotify is investigating the potential of large language models (LLM).

Personalised suggestions: Spotify is also investigating methods to leverage LLM to enhance the user experience. Specifically, it wants to identify trends in its customers’ preferences for spoken material (such as audiobooks and podcasts) and provide them with recommendations for more recent and engaging content.

Safer experiences: In order to identify potentially hazardous material and offer safer experiences, Spotify is also investigating the use of LLM.

Spotify was one of the first companies to employ AI, implementing algorithms for music recommendations a decade ago. The Swedish business is now trying to reproduce it in its non-music material, such as audiobooks and podcasts, by using LLMs. Understanding these three points suggests that using AI will encompass podcasts in addition to music. As a result, voiced recommendations that are more suited to our tastes will be available to us. In addition, it will identify hazardous information so that consumers won’t see it.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said,With this expanded partnership, Spotify will use Google Cloud’s AI tools to take its customer experience to a new w levelSpotify is aware of the potential that AI can bring to their activities. Together, we will continue to collaborate in the development of innovative technologies that are beneficial to them.”
