Samsung and Google both offer software updates for a promised period of time for their gadgets. Currently, Google isn’t at the top by offering seven years of software updates. In 2020, Samsung announced that it would offer three years of Android software updates to selected devices, including premium and mid-range models.
After giving most devices, regardless of price, access to just two significant OS updates for ten years, the business shortly thereafter increased the period of time that flagship and several mid-range smartphones were eligible for OS updates to four years.
Only Samsung Galaxy devices launched in or around 2021 are eligible for the four-year promise of OS upgrades. Therefore, older flagships and cheaper Galaxy series devices will not receive Android 14, as they will only receive Android 13 One UI 5.1 as their final operating system update.

Although many of Samsung’s 2020 phones and tablets, particularly the flagship models, have hardware that is still fairly capable, this may come as a disappointment, but it is not surprising as it has never been a criterion for how many updates a specific Galaxy phone will receive and probably never will be.
