One UI 7.0 Delivers New Pro-Grade Video Features to Camera Assistant

Samsung has just started rolling out a new update for the Camera Assistant app with One UI 7.0 support that turns out to be good news for the Galaxy fans, especially for the Galaxy S25 series, as they will be able to automatically save videos to external storage.

Good Lock Camera Assistant app allows users to have more impressive tweaks in the device’s main camera app’s functionality that results in an enhanced and much more immersive experience when capturing photos or videos.

Galaxy S25 Series Can Enable to Display HDR10+ via Camera Assistant App

In the Camera Assistant settings, you can enable or disable HDR10+ video recording, as long as HDR is turned on in the advanced video options of the standard camera app.

HDR10+ enhances the colors and contrast of videos recorded in both Video and Pro Video modes using the Galaxy S25’s stock camera app. While the Galaxy S24 records videos in 8-bit SDR by default, the Galaxy S25 series supports 10-bit HDR video capture.

Samsung’s new flagship smartphones also offer support for storing videos directly on an external storage

Meanwhile, with enabling the Save videos to external storage option via the Camera Assistant app’s settings, users will be able to automatically save videos to external storage, thanks to the latest version. This feature is compatible with Video, Pro Video, Portrait Video, Slow Motion and Hyperlapse modes in the standard camera app.

However, currently only available for the Galaxy S25 series and the upcoming Galaxy A56, the key highlight is that the videos will get saved to external storage when the device is connected to the phone’s USB-C port. Alternatively, this newest option is compatible with video, pro video, portrait video, slow motion, and time-lapse modes, respectively.

Apart from this, it’s already been reported earlier that the Camera Assistant app is being prepared for One UI 7 that will bring the support for saving videos automatically to the external storage, and now alongside the latest update, Samsung has already started providing the feature, and it’s expected to reach more older Galaxy phones in the future other than the S25 series.
