Samsung seems to be looking forward to speedily delivering the January 2025 security update for the Galaxy smartphones; as of now, the company has already covered the majority of devices from different parts of the world. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A53 units have started receiving the update in the US.
Well, the Galaxy A54 models have already received the security patch in the European countries, while this time, Samsung is expanding this January 2025 security update in the US, which is now available for both the carrier-locked and unlocked units in the country.

The January 2025 security update for the carrier-locked Galaxy A54 has arrived with the A546USQSACYA3 and A546VSQSACYA2 (Verizon) version numbers, while the carrier-unlocked units can be recognized with the A546U1UESACYA2 version number.
On the opposite side, the Samsung Galaxy A53 units are also receiving the same update in the US that can be identified with the A536VSQSEEYA4 version number; however, it’s currently only available for the carrier-locked (Verizon) models. It’s expected that the update will reach the unlocked units soon.
Meanwhile, as per the details listed in the Android patch for January 2025, the update, however, doesn’t mention any major features and changes, but it primarily focuses on providing a more safe and secure experience to the users by integrating a lot of fixes from both Google and Samsung collectively for all the security vulnerabilities addressed in the previous version while also protecting the device against potential threats.
Alternatively, the update further brings performance optimizations, adds stability and reliability to the overall system behavior, applies the latest security patches, and offers much-improved features that in turn offer a much more stable, smooth, and optimized user experience.
