Samsung is to launch the next-generation Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, which is anticipated to deliver at least 25% faster 5G speed than its predecessor.
The Korean tech brand is supposed to debut the Galaxy S26 series, including, the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Utlra, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in early next year sometime between January and February 2026.
The company is highly anticipated to power the coming series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. However, it’s not officially confirmed but if it happens then it will be significant for delivering super-fast performance.
Meanwhile, Qualcomm has announced a new modem, the X85, and is expected to be used in the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which hints at the 5G performance of the forthcoming Galaxy S26 series.
Qualcomm has introduced the X85 5G Modem-RF which offers up to 12.5Gbps download and 3.7Gbps upload speeds on the 5G network. The newly introduced modem features an AI-Powered Data Traffic Engine, and regarding this Qualcomm assures that it will deliver “AI-enhanced, dynamic gaming traffic prioritization,” “AI-enhanced OTT calling for clearer voice and video calls,” and “Smooth Wi-Fi Cellular transfer.”
On the comparison hand, Galaxy S25’s Snapdragon 8 Elite has an X80 5G Modem-RF that offers 10Gbps download and 3.5Gbps upload speeds.
If the expectations come true, then the Galaxy S26 will offer at least 25% faster download and 5.8% faster upload speed on the 5G network compared to the newly launched Galaxy S25 devices.
However, it’s quite early to predict anything confirmed regarding the Galaxy S26 lineup since it is still in early developing phase and has almost a year to launch.
