Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones belong to Spectrum Mobile and Xfinity Mobile carriers are now compatible with the satellite messaging services in the USA.
Recently it was reported that Verizon announced all the Galaxy S25 users will be receiving satellite connectivity. Following Verizon, Charter Communication and Comcast have announced that their respective mobile network business, Spectrum Mobile and Xfinity Mobile have launched satellite-based message services for the Galaxy S25 series and Pixel 9 series in the USA.
Both of these two brands collaborated with Skylo using its non-terrestrial network (NTN) to introduce the satellite messaging service.
Now the Galaxy S25 users belonging to Spectrum Mobile and Xfinity Mobile carriers are compatible with connecting to emergency services and let them text without even requiring cellular coverage. Currently, there’s no official detail on whether the brands will charge for the service and how to set it up.
Satellite messaging services permit users to send and receive text messages in areas where there is no cellular coverage, via satellites for communication.
Regarding this achievement, Executive Vice President for Product, Danny Bowman, at Charter Communications, states; “The availability of satellite backup service provides Spectrum Mobile customers with a sense of security, knowing they can stay connected even in the most remote locations. We are delivering cutting-edge technology that continues to empower our customers with the confidence that their communication needs are always met, no matter where they are.”
