Samsung started developing firmware for the Galaxy S25 FE

Samsung is gearing up to expand its Fan Edition (FE) family by adding a new smartphone called the Galaxy S25 FE, and now it has started developing the software for the device.
Presently, the Korean tech giant is all set to launch the fourth variant under the Galaxy S25 lineup, Galaxy S25 Edge, on May 13. Meanwhile, reports started teasing the fifth variant of the series, Galaxy S25 FE.
A few days back, it was reported that Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S25 FE by the end of this year, which is anticipated to be powered by the Exynos 2400e chipset and run Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.
Now, one of our reliable colleagues, SamMobile, reported that Samsung has started developing software for the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE. The firmware development has started for the US unlock variant of the phone with the dedicated model number SM-S731U and has firmware version S731USQU0AYDH.
The device is anticipated to feature a thinner design with a wider but slim battery. It’s expected that Samsung could offer the same battery capacity as its predecessor and could make it available in two variants based on memory: 8GB & 12GB RAM, and at least 256GB internal storage. However, there’s no official detail regarding the specifications of the Galaxy S25 FE, so it remains to be seen exactly what new novelties the device will bring.
