Google drops Android 16 Beta 4.1 with several bugfixes

Samsung is expected to kick off the One UI 8 beta program before the month’s end, meanwhile, Google has already released Android 16 Beta 4.1 along with several bugfixes. 

A few days back, Google released Android 16 Beta 4 for the Pixel smartphones, which was supposed to be the final beta version, as the build entered the final stage of platform stability. Although beta users, after receiving Beta 4, reported that the update includes a strange bug that vanishes the battery health.  

Now, Google has released a new Android 16 Beta 4.1 update, which brings several bug fixes to enhance the stability of the software version. Users who are already a part of the Android 16 beta program will receive a notification for the latest 4.1 update. It seems that Google, with this beta version close to the end of the Android 16 beta program.

Google with Beta 4.1 fixes several issues, including 4k video recording at 4x telephoto, weather map disappearing, lock screen shortcuts triggering with a single tap, constant battery drain, Google app crash while loading a website, and more. On the other side, under the hood, Samsung is also working on Android 16-based One UI 8 for so long, and is expected to start the beta program as soon as possible by the end of June. It will be interesting to see whether Google will release the stable Android 16 first, or before that, Samsung starts the One UI 8 beta program.
