Samsung Galaxy Tab users, here’s some good news for you as the company has addressed the One UI 7 home screen crashing issue with just a simple fix.
To date, Samsung has already offered the latest Android 15-based One UI 7 to most of its eligible Galaxy Tab models, although the mid-range tablets are still waiting for an update. Noticeably, a few Galaxy Tab users reported that right after installing the One UI 7 update, they are facing an annoying bug causing the home screen to crash.
However, a few weeks ago, Samsung issued a warning for the Galaxy Tab users regarding the home screen crashing issue and also shared pre-update steps. The company advised users to change the layout to a horizontal grid before updating to One UI 7. But the users who did not follow the instructions may now be encountering the home screen crashing issue.
Meanwhile, as now Samsung community moderator has reported that the issue mainly affects users who had a specific home screen layout before updating to One UI 7. In case the home screen was set up in a 5×7 layout, and users were using large widgets that filled the screen vertically, for instance, a 3×7 widget, this may be causing the problem.
Ultimately, Samsung addresses the issue with a simple fix. If you are facing the same issue, you just have to delete the data of the One UI Home app, which will reset the home screen settings and may stop the crashing issue.
You can easily delete the One UI Home app data by launching the Settings app on your Galaxy Tab and selecting Applications. Then look for the One UI Home app and then tap on Storage and tap the ‘Delete Data’ option to delete app data completely.
