Samsung to bring major battery upgrade for future Galaxy phones

Samsung is one of the biggest conglomerates as it makes almost every important component of smartphones with its own different departments. Samsung SDI is also one of them, which is responsible for bringing new battery-related technology.

Recently, it was reported that the company could bring a new silicon-carbon type battery for its smartphones. Now, even before it comes true, there is already a report arrived about another major battery change for Galaxy phones.

Samsung is working on new technology referred as “SUS CAN”. In this tech, the battery will be based on a steel casing. However, currently there is no details about the battery available from Samsung, but according to the tipster, Samsung SDI division is working on a new battery tech that uses a stainless steel material. This development will reportedly help improve internal energy density. Ultimately, it will enable the battery to store more energy in the same size.

It is worth noticing that Apple has already introduced this tech in its iPhone 16 but limited to the Pro Max model, which raises the question of why Apple don’t implement it to other models as well. One of the possible reasons is the cost of the new tech.

In the coming time, we could see the combination of true battery innovation with outer and inner changes. like with the inner lithium changes with new silicon carbon anodes and others with the SUS CAN structure. Let’s hope this battery tech could be available to more devices and not limited to the flagship ones.
