Samsung Galaxy Watch FE gets a new security update in the US

Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch FE back in June 2024, which expanded its Galaxy smartwatch portfolio. The Watch FE indeed arrived with various interesting features and upgrades, adding a little extra to the watch lineup. Meanwhile, this Fan Edition watch is getting a new update in the US.

Previously, the Galaxy Watch FE received One UI 6 Watch as a major software update, and now, the company is rolling out the first software update for Verizon Galaxy Watch FE models in the US.

Meanwhile, the new software update for the Galaxy Watch FE is now available in the US for the Verizon carrier models only and has been identified with the build number R866USQU1AYD1. At the same time, the update significantly focuses on improving the smartwatch’s overall stability and performance in order to provide a more efficient user experience.

On the other hand, the update further brings the most updated Android security patches, which include the March 2025 security patch that eventually strengthens the device’s security and core functionality while also protecting it from certain external risks for a smoother and more stable functionality.

Well, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch FE with One UI 5 Watch on board; the watch was then updated to the One UI 6 Watch OS, followed by the wider availability. At the same time, the company says that the Watch FE models are eligible to receive only 3 years of OS updates.
