Last month, Samsung launched its brand-new Galaxy Watch FE, specially made to provide the flagship Galaxy watch features at an affordable price; this is the first time the Korean giant has introduced the updated fan edition Galaxy watch.

As we said, the device is made to reach users who can use flagship-level features at an affordable cost. It is obvious that the company hasn’t equipped the device with similar hardware. Now, the new report mentions that the watch also lacks OS update support.

How Many Software Update Will Galaxy Watch FE Get?

According to SamHive, the Galaxy Watch FE is only eligible for 4 year of software support, during which it will receive three major updates: Wear OS and One UI watch. The device will also receive security patches for four years.

Compared to the other standard Galaxy watches, the FE variant lacks one OS and one year of software updates. Meanwhile, Samsung has followed the same five-year software policy for the Galaxy Watch 7 series.

In general, major software updates benefit users by providing the convenience of using different functionalities. At the same time, security patch support ensures that users can stay protected from cyber threats.
