Carrier locked Galaxy S22 series getting May 2025 security patch in the US

Samsung is moving forward for distribution of new security patch for the devices. It is currently working on multiple updates including One UI 7 and One UI 8 beta updates On the other hand the company is also efficiently expanding the May 2025 security patch to the eligible devices.

Galaxy S22 May 2025 patch: What’s new

Samsung has rolled out the May 2025 patch for the Galaxy S22 with the firmware version number S90xUSQS8FYE4. The update is currently available for the locked units of Galaxy S22 in the US. it is expected that it could expand to the unlocked units in the next few days. Earlier, the device has grabbed the update in other regions of the world.

The May 2025 security patch for Galaxy S22 doesn’t bring any new changes for the device but it will ensure the overall security of the devices. It is worth noticing that the device has recently grabbed the One UI 7 as the major update so it is expected that company could bring some improvements to the existing software with the update.

If you are also using the Galaxy S22 in the US then you should started getting the update notification, then tap on it navigate to the software update by tapping on the download and install option. You can also check it manually by going to the software update manually by going to the system settings.

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S22 back in 2022, it came with Android 12, since then it has received three major updates already and it will still be eligible to get the one more update as Android 16. Along with the major update the device will also receive security patches for next two more years.
