Telstra brings Starlink Satellite text messaging service for Australian Galaxy S25 users

Samsung Galaxy S25 users residing in Australia, get ready to experience the Starlink satellite text messaging service if you are a Telstra carrier customer.

A few months ago, it was reported that T-Mobile introduced a new T-Mobile Starlink service where Samsung Galaxy smartphone owners in the US will benefit from satellite-based mobile connectivity.

Now, one of Australia’s leading mobile carriers, Telstra, is also bringing this convenient Starlink satellite text messaging service with support for the Galaxy S25 series, which allows users to send text messages via satellite connectivity without requiring a cellular connection. Currently, the service is only compatible with sending and receiving text messages, but it is expected that soon it will support voice and low-speed data.

Galaxy S25 users can benefit from this service by paying a month-to-month mobile plan to send and receive text messages via Starlink satellites seamlessly, in particular scenarios when they are stuck somewhere, there is no cellular coverage.

Notably, once the Galaxy S25 users recharge their phones with a month-to-month satellite mobile plan, their smartphone on Telstra will automatically connect to the Starlink messaging service instantly when no cellular coverage is available. However, there’s a condition, as the service does not work indoors, so users have to step outside to benefit from this service.

Although the service is available in almost all outdoor areas on mainland Australia and Tasmania, but not available in the Australian Radio Quiet Zone in Western Australia, as well as remote offshore territories and islands
