Galaxy A36 5G to Join One UI 8 Lineup as Development Progresses

Samsung is indeed moving smoothly with One UI 8, its next major OS for its Galaxy smartphones that will be running Android 16 on top. With various Galaxy devices already spotted running the latest build for quite some time now, a recent report suggests that the Galaxy A36 units also joined the list.

Basically, the Galaxy A36 5G was launched in March of this year, bearing 6 years of software update policy, and has arrived with several stunning features as well. One of the most interesting highlights is the inclusion of Awesome Intelligence, a toned-down version of the Galaxy AI suite that offers some limited AI-powered features.

At the same time, according to the report by a tipster via X, the Galaxy A36 units have already started appearing running One UI 8 on Samsung’s test servers, carrying the version number A366BXXU4BYG1. This specifically hints that Samsung has now moved on towards the Galaxy A36 models and has apparently started development of the latest build for its mid-tier device.

Beyond this, the list of One UI 8 internal test builds for Galaxy devices is gradually growing, with models including the Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, S22, Galaxy Z Fold 5, S25 Edge, Galaxy A55A16, and A15.

Well, Samsung has already confirmed that the upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, will set a benchmark of debuting with the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 version, and the Galaxy S25 series is already running the One UI 8 Beta 3 build; therefore, it remains to be seen when Samsung’s One UI 8 will reach its stable stage.
