Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 to run One UI 8 out of the box

Samsung is actively gearing up to debut its seventh-generation foldable smartphones in the second half of this year, which are anticipated to run One UI 8 out of the box.
The Korean tech giant is supposed to debut the seventh-generation foldable smartphones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, at the Galaxy Unpacked event sometime in July 2025. A new report from one of our reliable colleagues, SamMobile, revealed that the upcoming foldable phones will launch with One UI 8 based on Android 16 onboard
Previously, it was expected that the next-generation foldable phones would run Android 15 out of the box, as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 already appeared on the One UI 7 test server. However, it doesn’t seem to be the case since a new report hints at the One UI 8.
Ritually, Google showcases the latest Android version at the Google I/O event, and this year, the event will be held on May 20 and 21 at which it will reveal major upgrades that Android 16 will bring. Google has already started the Android 16 beta program and has released three beta updates and is highly anticipated to release the stable version by the end of Q2 2025.
Since One UI 8 will be based on Android 16, Samsung may adopt most major underlying changes and improvements that Google will introduce. However, there’s no official statement regarding this report yet. It will be interesting to see whether the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will run on One UI 8 or One UI 7 out of the box.
