Samsung is supposed to debut the next-generation Fan Edition (FE) variant, the Galaxy S25 FE, which is now anticipated to feature a ‘Flexible OLED’ panel.
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series, including Base, Plus, and Ultra variants. A few months later, it introduced the fourth variant of the lineup, Galaxy S25 Edge, and now it is looking forward to debuting the FE variant: Galaxy S25 FE.
Meanwhile, a reliable tipster, Jukanlosreve is claiming that Samsung Electronics is planning to apply a ‘Flexible OLED’ to this year’s coming Galaxy S FE Model, i.e., Galaxy S25 FE.
If the report comes true, then the coming Galaxy S25 FE will feature a flexible OLED panel. Reportedly, this panel is a high-value product that facilitates a thinner device compared to conventional rigid OLEDs. Samsung will start the mass production of flexible OLED panels by the end of this month.
The reason behind the adoption of flexible OLED panels with the FE model is to differentiate it from lower-end models such as the Galaxy A series, and because flexible OLED is gradually becoming more mainstream. An official from Samsung Display states, “Samsung Electronics is showing a movement to expand the adoption of flexible OLEDs to semi-flagship models like the Galaxy S FE and Galaxy A. Although specific shipment volumes have not been determined, it will be a significant growth engine for Samsung Display as well.”
According to market research firm Omdia, global shipments of flexible OLED smartphones increased by 15% year-on-year to 151 million units during Q1 2025, whereas the proportion of LCD and rigid OLED smartphones is generally declining.
However, Samsung hasn’t officially revealed any statement regarding the adoption of a flexible OLED panel with the coming Galaxy S25 FE device; it remains to be seen whether the report will come true.
