A Study Confirms Galaxy Z Fold 7 as the World’s Thinnest Foldable

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still a hot topic among foldable enthusiasts regarding its slimness, and now a new study reveals that it can claim the title of the world’s thinnest foldable phone.
It’s been almost a month since Samsung debuted its latest foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It features great specifications, a smarter camera, and more advanced AI tools. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and runs Android 16-based One UI 8.
Right after its official launch, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a controversial topic due to its reported slimness, making it the thinnest book-style foldable yet. Meanwhile, a new report revealed that a deep study by the Korean Consumer-Centered Enterprise Association (KCEA) found that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures 8.82 mm in thickness when folded.
The most interesting fact is that Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures 8.9 mm when folded, whereas the recent study revealed a new measurement of 8.82 mm, which means the phone is even slimmer than Samsung’s claims.

Reportedly, the study also claimed that the Honor Magic V5 is the second thinnest foldable on the market, as it measures 9.34 mm; however, the company claimed 8.8 mm. Following these two devices, the study also lists the top five thinnest foldable phones currently available in the market, which are as follows in chronological order:
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Honor Magic V5
- Xiaomi Mix Fold 4
- Vivo X Fold 5
- Huawei Mate X6
