Carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 updated to January 2023 security patch by Verizon in the US

Samsung released the January 2023 security patch for Galaxy Note 20 on the Verizon network in the US, providing users with improved security and bug fixes. Samsung started rolling out the January 2023 security patch for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on the Verizon carrier-locked network in the US. Galaxy Note 20 could still receive the One UI 5.1

The update includes the latest security fixes from Google and Samsung. Over 50 Android OS vulnerabilities were marked as “High” in the January 2023 security patch changelog. Samsung also patched some issues with NFC, Secure Folder, and Samsung Knox. Samsung advises all users of these devices to install the latest security patch as soon as possible.

How to check the update

If you are a Verizon user with a Galaxy Note 20, you should be receiving the update notification on your device soon. Alternatively, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
