Samsung welcomes Apple’s rivalry in the foldable market

The South Korean tech conglomerate Samsung has brought an admirable revolutionary to the tech market by launching foldable smartphones. Ever since Samsung’s foldable devices started to gain worldwide popularity and users’ admiration, other manufacturers also stepped out to join this league. Recently, one of Samsung’s officials has shared their thoughts on others joining the foldable market, especially the iPhone owner ‘Apple’. 

Informatively, Choi Won-Joon, the Executive Vice President of Samsung, said at Mobile World Congres (MWC) event that they would welcome their straight rival, Apple, if they move forward to release foldable devices. Not only Apple but they said to welcome the Chinese manufacturers as well in the foldable leagues because they believe this move will engage more people in the consumer experience unique to foldable phones. 

Choi stated, “We will naturally welcome Apple if it advances into the foldable market.” He also said, “It means that not only Chinese players but also Apple approves of the value of foldable phones that Samsung Electronics opened and that they will be enjoyed by more people.” Afterwards, he added that Samsung Electronics would focus on playing a key role in making foldable phones more popular rather than focus on the competitors

Let us inform you that Choi is the Head of the mobile R&D office at the mobile eXperience (MX) business of Samsung. Choi also was in charge of Samsung’s newly-launched flagship Galaxy S23 series development. He said in the manner of Galaxy S23’s sales, Samsung seems to get a double-digit growth than the predecessor, as announced during the unpacked event.
