Galaxy Note 20 gets March 2023 update in Europe and Asia

After updating the Galaxy Note20 devices in the US, Samsung is now expanding the update to the European region; currently, the update is rolling out in Spain and could be available in other countries of Europe in the next few days. While in Asia, the update is rolling out of the LTE variant of Galaxy Note 20 devices.

The latest update brings a new security patch update as of March 2023. The update comes with new firmware version numbers N981BXXS5HWC1 and N986BXXS5HWC1 for Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. Earlier, these devices successfully received the support of new UI features in the form of One UI 5.1.

On the other hand, for the Asian variant of Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra devices with version numbers N980FXXS5HWC1 and N985FXXS5HWC1, the update is rolling out in the LTE version, and it is expected that the same update will soon be available in the 5G variant of Note 20 Ultra model.

The March 2023 update is a general security patch update that brings several fixes that enhance the security of devices; moreover, it also includes some improvements that provide betters stability and smooth performance of the device. So, for devices that workin’ for a long time, this kind of update is like a boon for them because sometimes they bring some internal maintenance features that increase their life.

The Galaxy Note 20 was launched back in 2020, and it came with Android 10 out of the box; later, it received three more android updates as the company promised before; currently, it is running on Android 13 and also received the One UI 5.1 update, which was the last major update that brought new functionalities to the device. Now the device is no longer eligible for further android updates; however, it will still receive some minor updates in the form of a security patch update.

Users who own Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra devices should receive a notification when the new update is available for their devices. Alternatively, you can also check the update manually by following the below steps.

How to install

  1. First Go to the system settings
  2. Scroll down and tap on the software 
  3. Tap on download and install 
  4. Wait until it finished searching
  5. Now Tap on the download button and install.
