Samsung is serving the June 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 series, which includes three models: Galaxy S21 base, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Initially, Samsung updated these devices in Europe; now, it is expanding in the US.

The latest update is now available for the locked variant of the Galaxy S21 series. This indicates that some of the carriers have released the June 2023 update for the bounded devices; for identification of the latest update, you can check this firmware version for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra as G991USQS7EWF1, G996USQS7EWF1, and G998USQS7EWF1 respectively. Notably, the unlocked variant of the devices already got the update a couple of days ago.

The June 2023 security update is the regular monthly security update that doesn’t bring any innovation, but it includes some security-related enhancements which are very important for the device; in other words, with the new update, Galaxy S21 series devices will get new improvements to the functionality of the device.

If you are a Galaxy S21 series user from the US, you should receive a notification of the latest update. Once you get the notification, it means your device is now ready to be updated. To do so, you can directly tap on the notification, which will redirect you to the software update menu. Or you can also manually go there from the system settings.

The Galaxy S21 series was released back in 2021; Samsung has debuted the device with Android 11 preinstalled. Later the device received two more major updates in the form of Android 12 and Android 13 sequentially. As Samsung has promised to give four Android updates to the device, the device will get the updates up to Android 15.
