Samsung has rolled out the June 2023 security update for the Galaxy S21 series. If we talk about the changelog, the update doesn’t bring any significant feature or change for the devices, but having a new security patch aims to strengthen the device’s security.
The latest security update is currently rolling out in the US. Notably, it is currently limited to unlocked variants. Users who own Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware version number G991U1UES7EWE1, G996U1UES7EWE1, and G998U1UES7EWE1 respectively. It is now available in almost all of the carriers.

Whenever the update is available for your device, you will be notified through a system alert message; once you receive it, then you can download it by tapping on it, and it will navigate you to the software update menu. Then you can easily update it by tapping on the download now button.

As said earlier, the June 2023 update comes with security-related patches; this patch contains over 60 fixes which brings improvements to the software for the devices, which ultimately got the updated security codes so it can easily fight against attackers who use different types of malware.
The Galaxy S21 was released back in 2021; it came with Android 11; later, it received two more major updates, and now it is running on the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 update. Earlier, the device was only eligible for three Android updates, but later with the new policy, Samsung expanded the eligibility to one more update, which means the device will get major updates up to Android 15.
