Samsung’s Automotive UFS 3.1 Chip Enters Mass Production

Samsung is a leading manufacturer of smartphones and other electronic gadgets and now focuses on extending its hands over benefiting the automobile industry. In 2015, Samsung initiated its vehicle memory business which has grown enormously. The firm debuted the first automotive UFS in the market in 2017, and followed by a variety of memory options, such as AutoCAD, Auto LPDDR5X, and Auto GDDR6, were launched.

In-vehicle Infotainment(IVI) system-specific automotive Universal Flash Storage(UFS) 3.1 memory solution is now being mass-produced by Samsung Electronics. By the end of 2023, Samsung intends to deliver its UFS 3.1 solutions to worldwide automakers and component producers. Three different versions of UFS 3.1 are enabled, 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. The purpose of coming up with different variants is to satisfy the requirements of the customers. UFS 3.1 lineup provides future automotive applications, such as electric or driverless vehicles, a more effective battery life management.

Samsung 4nm chip manufacturing defect rate drops below 25%

Out of this, the 256 GB model provides extra features such as a 33% reduction in energy usage compared to the previous model, a 700MB/s sequential write performance and a 2,000 MB/s sequential read speed. This new automotive UFS 3.1 solution complies with AEC-Q100 Grade 2, a semiconductor quality standard for automobiles that ensures steady performance even in a wide range of temperatures from -40°C to 105°C. The firm received two accreditation recently; in April 2023, ASPICE Level 2 Certification was granted from customers for its ADAS-focused UFS 3.1 product. A prominent auto certification organization, C&BIS, awarded ASPICE Level 2 certification for the UFS 3.1 product for ADAS.

Samsung Electronics files several patents on robotics in the USA

Hyunduk Cho, Vice President of the Memory Product Planning Team at Samsung Electronics, stated, “Samsung’s new UFS 3.1 solution addresses a wide range of customer needs for optimized IVI systems while pushing forward with next-generation memory trends that require higher ESG standards. We aim to expand our presence in the automotive semiconductor market following the introduction of our UFS 3.1 solution for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).”

Galaxy S25 Ultra to Feature First 50MP Ultrawide Since Galaxy S10

Samsung Galaxy enthusiasts, especially those who are photography-addicted too, get ready for the biggest camera upgrade ever on the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra

Before even any official statement release or launch, dozens of leaks and rumors are blowing in the market regarding Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy S25 series, which is supposed to arrive in early 2025. Now the new report is hinting at a major camera upgrade. 

If the new report is to be believed, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Samsung launched its Galaxy S10 series back in 2019, and from then to the recently launched Galaxy S24 series, none of them features a 50MP ultrawide camera yet. Fortunately, if this report comes true, then the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the first Galaxy device with a higher resolution ultrawide since the sensor was introduced. 

This is being speculated by a post on X shared by a tipster who claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 50MP ultrawide camera, and it will be the first Galaxy device with this high resolution since the sensor was introduced to the lineup initially with the Galaxy S10 series. The recently launched Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 12 MP ultrawide camera, and its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, also has a 12 MP ultrawide camera.

Apart from this, it was also reported recently that the Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature 8K recording across all rear cameras.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Could Bring A New Camera Design

The Korean firm ‘Samsung’ is about to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone – Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is expected to bring an updated camera design to enhance the look. 

We are not completely two months away from the Galaxy Unpacked event that is reportedly held on July 10 in Paris. Even before any official revelation regarding the specs, design, and features of Galaxy Z Fold 6,  tipsters already heated the market with leaks and rumors. Now the new report says that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could bring a new camera design. 

A tipster on X shared an image that showcases the rear cameras of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is immediately apparent that this is different from any rear camera housing we have ever seen on the Galaxy Z Fold family before. This hints that this time Samsung could introduce a fresh design for the foldable’s rear camera this year. 

The image has a Samsung Galaxy AI watermark which points out that it might be made changes, however, it’s best to wait for more confirmation before trusting this particular design detail since the brand has yet to reveal any official details. 

Recently, the list of Galaxy devices, including, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, and Galaxy Ring has already been leaked which arrived at the next Galaxy Unpacked event which is supposed to be held in July 2024.

US Galaxy Z Fold 6 Leaks on Geekbench, Hints at Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Samsung appears close to introducing its sixth-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, in July at the Galaxy Unpacked Event. Now the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is spotted on the Geekbench database. Let’s take a closer look at the detailed information. 

Although the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is already spotted on the Geekbench database, Now, luckily, in development, its sibling’s forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphone appeared on the Geekbench 6.3.0 benchmark database with the model number SM-F956U. 

The last letter ‘U’ in the model number points to the fact that this mode refers to a variant for the US market. It scored 1,964 points in the single-core round of the test and 6,619 points in the multi-core round. The listing reveals the existence of an octa-core processor with the codename pineapple, a 1+3+2+2 core configuration, and an Adreno 750 GPU. Apart from these, one chief core is clocked at 3.40 GHz, and the remaining three performance cores are at 3.15 GHz. 

This points out that Samsung could power the forthcoming Galaxy foldable with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3processor. The Geekbench database suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will arrive with 12GB of RAM and Android 14. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 already appeared on the 3C certification website, which suggested support for 25W fast charging, and now it is expected that this device will also visit other certification websites soon.
