Samsung is rapidly rolling out the September 2023 security update to its Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S21 series, S20 series, Galaxy S20 FE, and Galaxy A52 5G are getting the update in the US. It is worth noticing that these devices have already grabbed the update in several regions.

The September 2023 update doesn’t bring any significant features for the Galaxy devices; it is one of the maintenance updates that only aims to bring some new improvements that enhance the overall security of the Galaxy devices.

The latest update for these devices is currently live for the locked variants. Users can identify the update by the firmware version numbers. The Galaxy S21 series devices are receiving the update with firmware version number G99*USQS9EWI1. The Galaxy S20 series is getting an update with a different version number, G98*USQS7HWI1.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy A52 5G are getting a new update with firmware version numbers G781U1UESDGWI2 and A526USQSBEWH4, respectively. The latest update for all these devices is currently spotted on the T-Mobile network. However, it will soon be available on other networks as well.

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A52 are eligible for the Android 14 and One UI 6 updates, while the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 FE are no longer eligible for any major updates because they were launched back in 2020 and already received three major updates. It is also worth noticing that Samsung has also started the One UI 6 beta program for the Galaxy S21 in South Korea, which will soon be available in the US.
