Samsung Galaxy Watch Users Can Now Use PayPal via Google Wallet

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy smartwatch users get ready to experience new support on Galaxy watches as Google is expanding functionality and adding new support on Wear OS to enhance your experience directly from their wrists. Now Google Wallet supports PayPal on Wear OS, and more digital car keys are coming.

Google recently, at its biggest I/O 2024 event, introduced Wear OS 5 and several updates for the future. Now Google Wallet is rolling out PayPal support on Wear OS and expanding digital car key availability. This means that Galaxy smartwatch users can also experience PayPal support on their Galaxy watches.

PayPal can now be added to Google Wallet for Galaxy Watches powered by Wear OS; previously, it was only available on phones. This facility is available for users in the US and Germany. It joins today’s other Wear OS announcement about the Google Home app adding a Favorite Tile and complication for quick smart device access.

Google also announced that it is adding an extra layer of security; the update will include “more verification” for contactless payments. Regarding this, Google stated that “Before making a payment, you’ll now be prompted to confirm your identity—either by PIN, pattern, thumbprint, or Face Unlock—with the option to turn off verification for transit fares.

Apart from this, Android Digital Car keys are coming to select MINI models and soon vehicles from Mercedes-Benz and Polestar. Soon, users will be able to lock, unlock, and start their car with just their phone, or securely share digital car keys with family and friends.

Samsung Galaxy Watches to Introduce Family Health Monitoring

Samsung is actively setting up to expand its Samsung Health app services by introducing new convenient facilities. This giant is working on bringing a new feature called family health data sharing to the Samsung Health app.

Samsung is just nine days away from debuting the next-gen Galaxy Watch 7, which is expected to bring a new advanced facility that makes it a better tracker for your family.

A new report from the Android Authority says that a code has been spotted within the latest Samsung Health app that indicates that Samsung is working on family health data sharing with Galaxy Watches.

Samsung Health will soon let you monitor the data that your family member’s Galaxy Watch will receive. However, for security purposes, there is an approval process in the palace that allows for your Samsung account as a parent account to process the health data for your family member, for instance, your child’s Samsung account.

Since the data will be populated through the Galaxy Watch, it is quite obvious that your child will need to have their own Galaxy Watch and wear it enough to keep all key stats populated over time.

There are some security and privacy checks built into the family data-sharing feature. All members of the family will be able to stop sharing or change what and how much they share at any time, and they will also be able to preview what you want to share in advance.

Noticeably, accessing a child’s health details will require guardian consent. Shared data will automatically be deleted, and sharing will be rescinded in case there is an extended period of inactivity.

The Korean giant could bring the feature to its older smartwatches too, but it makes financial sense for the company to keep it exclusive to newer smartwatch models for a limited time initially before opening the feature up to older models.

Samsung has already started rolling out the One UI 6 watch beta program for the Galaxy smartwatches. The company initiated the program with its latest Galaxy Watch 6 series a couple of weeks ago, and recently it released the second betaupdate as well. Now the company has brought a new update for the Watch plugin for the devices.

Galaxy Watch 6 Plugin June 2024 Update

Samsung has rolled out the Watch 6 Plugin update. The latest update is coming with the firmware version number 2.2.13.24062461. With the latest update, the company has not made any significant changes, as it hasn’t mentioned them in the changelog. However, we hope that the company may enhance the performance of the connection with the watches.

For starters, the Galaxy Watch 6 Plugin is a stock application that allows users to easily connect their watches to their smartphones via the Galaxy Wearable application. To get consistent performance, you should keep the application up-to-date.

To install the latest update on your device, follow these simple steps: First, go to the Galaxy wearable application on the connected smartphone, then go to the Google Play Store or Galay Store. Here, search for the Galaywatch 6 Plugin, or you can see the update in the update tab. If the update is available, tap on the button.
