Wear OS 5 Aims to Extend Galaxy Watch Battery Life

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy smartwatches are on the way to significant improvements, as at I/O 2024, Google unveiled Wear OS 5, promising even more worthy enhancements, including battery life improvements.

Initially, Wear OS 5 is expected to launch with the forthcoming Galaxy Watch 7 in July at the Galaxy Unpacked event, and then on the Pixel Watch 3 by the end of this year, as its availability expands to other Wear OS watches. With Samsung’s continued collaboration and Google’s ongoing commitment, Wear OS is poised for a bright future, providing a robust and versatile smartwatch experience.

However, Google just teased Wear OS 5 but has yet to reveal all the details, but the giant claims this new update will decrease up to 20% of battery drain when tracking a marathon compared to Wear OS 4

Samsung Galaxy Watches will receive the Wear OS 5 update, hopefully bringing worthy attention to a decent boost in battery life. Apart from this, it is expected that the fitness application will have access to more data types, such as stride length, group contact time, and vertical oscillation. None of these are radical new features, but these enhancements should help further refine the Wear OS experience. Plus, longer battery life is always a welcome improvement, especially on smartwatches.

Google will base Wear OS 5 on Android 14, with the release packing a few major developer-facing changes, including the next version of the Watch Face Format, which is expected to support new complications such as weather, goal progress, and many more.

Wear OS: Samsung Internet Browser Adds New Functionality

Published

By

Samsung has created a well-connected ecosystem for its devices, where most of its useful applications are available on smartphones and smartwatches. One of those applications is the Samsung Internet Browser, which allows users to use several tools to explore the content available on the Internet. Now the smartwatch-based application is getting a new useful back-and-forward feature with the latest update.

Samsung Internet Browser update (WearOS)

Samsung is rolling out a new update for the wearOS-based Samsung internet browser with version number 3.2.00.8. With the latest update, the company has introduced a new feature that will enable users to easily navigate web pages to forward or backward directions on all the WearOS smartwatches.

It is worth noticing that the Galaxy smartwatches previously supported the ability to navigate to previous web pages, and they will also have forward options, which will level up the browsing experience. It is worth noting that the Samsung Internet Browser is available for every WearOS watch, so the latest feature will be available for all those watches.

However, it is not clear yet if the update will give some dedicated buttons to navigate pages forward and backward, if it will work with simply swiping right and left gestures, or if it will work with the physical button on the smartwatches.

To update the Samsung Internet Browser on your watch, go to the Google Play Store, then swipe from the menu at the bottom of the screen and select My Apps. If you see a new update available, then hit the update button.

Samsung has rolled out a new update for the Galaxy Watch4 manager. For starters,  this application provides the functionality to handle the operation between smartphones and Galaxy Watch4 smartwatches. Now the application is getting a new update for better functioning.

Samsung has rolled out the new update for the Galaxy Watch 4 manager with version number 2.2.11.24052951. With the latest update, the company hasn’t brought any significant changes to the devices, but it is expected to get some new improvements internally that will ultimately enhance the overall performance and stability of the functions that were running when you connected your watch to the smartphone.

In a nutshell, the Galaxy Watch 4 is a back-end application that works under the Galaxy wearable application, so if you want to use the Galaxy Watch4 functionality with the smartphone conveniently, then you should always keep the application up-to-date.

The latest update for Galaxy Watch 4 Manager is live for Galaxy devices in a software package of 40 MB. This signifies that the update may not bring any major changes. Galaxy users can now update the application from the Galaxy Store, while other Android smartphone users can check the update from the Google Play Store.
