Samsung to End Support for Galaxy Watches Running Tizen OS
Samsung is looking forward to the shutdown of Galaxy Store support for the Tizen smartwatch OS. This means that Galaxy Watches released before the Galaxy Watch 4 will all lose support.
Samsung debuted the Galaxy Watch 4 back in 2021, based on Wear OS. Before this, Samsung powered its Galaxy watches with its in-house Tizen OS. Now the brand has decided to shut down support for the Galaxy Store on Galaxy Watches using Tizen OS. The Galaxy Watches use Tizen OS, which is mentioned below:

- Galaxy Watch Active 2
- Galaxy Gear
- Galaxy Watch
- Galaxy Watch 3
A user (Seaweed Maximum) speculates on Reddit about Samsung’s termination schedule for Galaxy Store access for Tizen smartwatches. He also shared a screenshot of the notice originally posted by a Galaxy Store Operation team member. It offers a timeline for Samsung’s termination plans.
The Galaxy Store will no longer sell paid content for the Galaxy watches mentioned above starting September 30, 2024. The free downloads will end in May 2025, and by September 2025, you will not be able to redownload content you already purchased from the “My Apps” section in the Galaxy Store.
The brand will also mention that the core services related to these watches will stop everywhere except the Galay Store after May 2025. The latest Tizen OS-powered smartwatch is the Galaxy Watch 3, which debuted back in August 2020. Users with the Galaxy Watch 3 or an older Tizen smartwatch are recommended to shift to the latest Galaxy Watches that use Wear OS for the upgraded experience.

The Galaxy Watch 7 is undoubtedly the most anticipated smartwatch, as Samsung is bringing some new variants to the lineup.
This time, Samsung will introduce the Ultra variant, which will target premium users; meanwhile, there will be a base variant as well. This time, the company cannot provide the pro version. Now, before going official, the real-life photos appeared online.
Every new tech gadget needs to get certification before debuting in the market. It is worth noticing that in different markets there are different authorities, so in this case, the Galaxy Watch 7 series is spotted getting certification in the Chinese certification of Taiwan.
In the process of certification, real-life images of the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra surfaced online. With these images, we can clearly see the difference between the screen sizes of the watches.
According to the information, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra are categorized under these model numbers: SM-L3150 and SM-L7050, respectively.
Apart from the model numbers, the certification sheet reveals the battery capacity of the smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch 7 will be equipped with 417 mAh, while the Ultra variant will be equipped with a 590 mAh battery. In comparison to the predecessor, the Ultra variant has grabbed a significant increase in battery.
For information, the predecessor watch was equipped with a 425 mAh battery. However, it is not necessary for the watch globally to also have the same specs; there can be some differences in them.

Samsung is all set to debut its Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra at the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris. Now, ahead of the official launch, the spec sheets for both watches have leaked. Let’s see what new novelties the watch will bring.
Galaxy Watch 7 Specs and Price
Let’s take a look at the specs of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7, which will be available in two variants based on size: 40mm and 44mm. The report says it has an armor aluminum case and a sapphire glass screen protector. For an extra layer of protection, it has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. It could also have MIL-STD-810 H construction.
The next-gen Galaxy Watch 7 features a 1.3-inch (432 x 432) or 1.5-inch (480 x 480) Super AMOLED display. The battery power is 400 mAh or 425 mAh. It will be powered by an in-house Exynos W1000 3nm chip, and the memory package will include 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
If the report is to be believed, the Galaxy Watch 7 will have a specific price in most European countries.

Galaxy Watch Ultra Specs
The Galaxy Watch Ultra will be based on an in-house W1000 chipset, which is supposed to be more power-efficient due to its enhanced 3nm architecture. The memory package will include 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It has similar connectivity features as the Galaxy Watch 7. It boasts IP68 and MIL-STD-810 H ratings for extra protection from dust and water.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra features a 1.5-inch 480 x 480 Super AMOLED display. It has a titanium case and a larger 590mAh battery.
Jumping on its price, the Galaxy Watch Ultra with 4G connectivity is expected to be priced at €699, which seems like the most costly watch ever in the Galaxy family.
The rest of the specs for both the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra seem similar; for instance, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. Both run One UI Watch 6 out of the box. Both of them will feature an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, a geomagnetic sensor, and a BioActive sensor to enhance the health and fitness monitoring experience. We are only eight days away from the official launch of both the next-gen Galaxy smartwatches. It will be interesting to see whether these specs come true.

Samsung is actively setting up to expand its Samsung Health app services by introducing new convenient facilities. This giant is working on bringing a new feature called family health data sharing to the Samsung Health app.
Samsung is just nine days away from debuting the next-gen Galaxy Watch 7, which is expected to bring a new advanced facility that makes it a better tracker for your family.
A new report from the Android Authority says that a code has been spotted within the latest Samsung Health app that indicates that Samsung is working on family health data sharing with Galaxy Watches.
Samsung Health will soon let you monitor the data that your family member’s Galaxy Watch will receive. However, for security purposes, there is an approval process in the palace that allows for your Samsung account as a parent account to process the health data for your family member, for instance, your child’s Samsung account.
Since the data will be populated through the Galaxy Watch, it is quite obvious that your child will need to have their own Galaxy Watch and wear it enough to keep all key stats populated over time.
There are some security and privacy checks built into the family data-sharing feature. All members of the family will be able to stop sharing or change what and how much they share at any time, and they will also be able to preview what you want to share in advance.
Noticeably, accessing a child’s health details will require guardian consent. Shared data will automatically be deleted, and sharing will be rescinded in case there is an extended period of inactivity.
The Korean giant could bring the feature to its older smartwatches too, but it makes financial sense for the company to keep it exclusive to newer smartwatch models for a limited time initially before opening the feature up to older models.
