Samsung’s Copilot+ PCs with Qualcomm Chips Won’t Support Several Apps including ‘Fortnite’

Published

on

Samsung released Copilot+ PCs in its home country, South Korea, that use Qualcomm processors. These PCs are beneficial for AI tasks, but the giant has also claimed that several common applications won’t run on them.

Microsoft introduced the term “Copilot+ PC” for powerful laptops with built-in AI features. These laptops are powered by Snapdragon X Elite chipsets with a special chip (NPU) for running AI tasks super fast at 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS).

Most of the PCs use the X86 architecture, and machines built around Arm raise the prospect of old software being orphaned, which would hardly encourage buyers. Microsoft, however, created an emulation layer named Prism that it claims will make “your apps run great, whether native or emulated” on Copilot+ PCs.

Samsung warns that several security applications like Adobe Illustrator and Google Drive won’t run on its GalaxyBook Edge 4 Copilot+ PCs via a compatibility notice. Games including Fortnite, League of Legends, and Microsoft’s flagship shooter Halo Infinite are also not satisfied under Windows 11 for Arm and Snapdragon silicon, reportedly.

Websites for some South Korean financial services providers are also incompatible with the machines. It is also mentioned in the compatibility notice that particular printers may not work with the machines without new software. The Register has checked Samsung sites outside South Korea and was unable to find similar compatibility notices. However, it seems that this could be regarded as an old antitrust case where Microsoft had to offer a different version of Windows in South Korea.

Android Auto Not Connecting to Car Head Unit: How to Fix

Published

By

Android Auto

Android Auto is one of the popular products of Google, which delicately provides functionality to easily use several smartphone utility features from the car display. However, in most cases, the search giant is unable to provide a trouble-free experience to the users; the application frequently gets bugs and issues, like now, with the latest development, when users are having trouble getting services.

Several Android Auto users have reported inconvenience after updating the application to the larger update. According to the information, the application is unable to establish a proper connection with the car head unit. Reports claim that the problem appears to occur more frequently with wired connections.

It is worth noticing that the connection problems with Android Auto frequently occurred in past updates as well, which were limited to some users, but this time the bug seems to have affected a lot of users.

According to the reports, the issue was encountered in the recent update of Android Auto, including versions 11.7, 11.8, and 11.9. Meanwhile, Google has already introduced the 12.2 update, which does not appear in the report, so at the moment, we can’t confirm if the issue persists in the most recent update as well or not.

However, if you are getting the issue after installing the update, then it is recommended to roll back to the earlier update until Google addresses it and provides another update to fix the issue. To rollback to the older version, you need to sideload the older version of the application via external sources.
